Assisted Dying Bill Set to Fail
Despite receiving support from MPs in the House of Commons, the bill has run out of time in the current parliamentary session.
Campaigners, including Dame Esther Rantzen, warn that the failure to pass the law condemns terminally ill patients to 'die in agony.' A group of seven unelected lords has been identified as the primary roadblock, using procedural tactics to stymie the bill’s progress.
Advocates have vowed to continue the fight, suggesting that the issue will not go away until it is resolved through new legislation.
