Deadly shooting at Mexico pyramids
Mexican authorities are investigating a planned attack at the world-famous Teotihuacán archaeological site that left one Canadian woman dead.
The gunman, Julio César Jasso, reportedly ranted about the site's gruesome history to hostages before opening fire on a crowd at the Pyramid of the Moon.
Officials revealed that the shooter was influenced by violent acts in the United States and left behind images referencing the Columbine massacre.
President Claudia Sheinbaum has vowed a swift investigation and promised to tighten security at major tourist sites ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
