Bangkok Pub Fire Kills 27

At least 27 people died and dozens were injured when a fire tore through the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao pub in Bangkok's Chatuchak district in the early hours of Monday.

Witnesses described how flames erupted after a circuit breaker sparked, trapping patrons inside the maze-like venue with blocked exits.

The blaze is the deadliest fire in Thailand in over two decades, prompting authorities to investigate possible negligence and safety violations.

Rescue workers found many victims in the toilets, where they had sought refuge from the smoke.
