Judge blocks Nexstar-Tegna TV merger

Judge Trevor Nunley stated that the integration of the two companies could cause 'irreparable harm' to consumers by reducing competition in the broadcast market.

The merger would have created a massive media entity owning 265 television stations across 44 states.

Nexstar has claimed the deal is already complete and plans to appeal the decision.
