Medical Marijuana Reclassified Nationally
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche signed the order on Thursday, fulfilling a promise made by President Trump to expand medical options for Americans.
While the change does not fully legalize marijuana at the federal level, it removes it from the same category as heroin and LSD. The reclassification is expected to provide significant tax relief to state-licensed operators and stimulate investment in the multibillion-dollar sector.
However, the move has drawn sharp criticism from some of Trump's conservative allies who favor more restrictive drug laws.
