Russian Strike Kills 4 Indian Sailors Off Ukraine

Four Indian nationals died and another was critically wounded when a Russian missile hit the cargo ship MV Golden Leo off the Ukrainian port of Odesa.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs summoned the Russian envoy to lodge a strong protest and demand a thorough investigation.

Ukraine’s government condemned the strike as part of a pattern of Russian attacks on civilian shipping in the Black Sea.

The incident added to rising civilian casualties in the war, with the UN reporting a 37 per cent increase in deaths and injuries in the first half of 2026.
