HMRC child trust fund alert
As many as 750,000 accounts are currently unclaimed, with an average value of approximately £2,200 each.
The government will send letters to eligible young people to help them reunite with their lost cash.
The funds were originally set up for children born between 2002 and 2011 to encourage long-term saving.
Many account holders may be unaware the money exists or how to access it as they reach adulthood.
