Taco Bell Pulls Ingredients Amid Cyclospora Outbreak

Taco Bell temporarily removed lettuce, pico de gallo, and other fresh ingredients from restaurants in several states as health officials investigated a growing outbreak of the Cyclospora parasite.

The parasite can cause 'explosive' watery diarrhea, bloating, and fatigue, with signs posted at affected locations warning customers.

The outbreak has not yet spread to Canada, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada.

The chain is cooperating with the CDC and state health departments to trace the source of the contamination.
