EU unblocks €90bn Ukraine loan

The European Union has moved to finalize a critical €90 billion financial support package for Ukraine after months of political deadlock.

Hungary lifted its long-standing veto on the funds following the restoration of crude oil transit through the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba pipeline.

This loan is considered vital for Kyiv's ability to maintain its defense against Russian forces and stabilize its war-ravaged economy.

Formal approval of the package and a new round of sanctions against Moscow are expected to be concluded shortly.
