Stranger Than Heaven deep dive

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has unveiled extensive new details for its upcoming action-RPG 'Stranger Than Heaven' during a dedicated Xbox Presents showcase.

The game is set to span five distinct eras of modern Japanese history, beginning in 1915 and featuring a complex new combat system.

The star-studded cast includes a digital recreation of the late yakuza film icon Bunta Sugawara alongside a surprise appearance by Snoop Dogg.

Developers confirmed a 2026 release window for the title, which is being framed as a spiritual prequel to the long-running 'Yakuza' and 'Like a Dragon' series.
