Trump extends indefinite Iran ceasefire

President Donald Trump has unilaterally extended the two-week ceasefire with Iran, citing a request from Pakistan to allow more time for diplomatic negotiations.

Despite the pause in active strikes, the U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz remains in place, a measure Tehran has branded as piracy and state terrorism.

The White House indicated that the President is awaiting a unified proposal from what he described as a fractured Iranian leadership.

This diplomatic stalemate continues to disrupt global energy markets and maritime traffic through one of the world's most critical oil chokepoints.
