Pope Leo XIV visits Angola

The final leg of Pope Leo XIV's four-nation African tour has been marked by some of his most direct political commentary to date.

Speaking to a crowd of 40,000 in Angola, the Pope called for an end to the 'defrauding' of citizens by authoritarians and wealthy elites.

He emphasized the Church's role in advocating for social justice and transparency in governance.

The visit will conclude in Equatorial Guinea, where the Pope is expected to meet with long-standing leader Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
