Air New Zealand's Bunk Bed Innovation
The innovation is aimed at improving passenger comfort on some of the world's longest air routes, such as Auckland to New York.
However, the airline has also introduced strict rules for the pods, including a ban on snacks, smells, and 'cuddling' between passengers.
The Skynest project has been in development for several years and is viewed as a major competitive advantage in the budget travel market.
Travelers will be able to book a session in the pods for a separate fee, providing a much-needed rest during flights exceeding 15 hours.
