Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th Birthday

Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th Birthday

Commemorations included a royal reception at Buckingham Palace where senior royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, celebrated British centenarians.

A final masterplan for a permanent memorial statue in St. James's Park was also unveiled to the public.

The Princess of Wales paid a poignant homage by wearing a pearl necklace and earrings once owned by the late monarch.

Despite the passage of time, the legacy of the UK's longest-reigning sovereign continues to loom large over the modern monarchy.
