Jerusalem Day march turns violent
Jerusalem Day celebrations have descended into violence as tens of thousands of ultranationalist Jews marched through the heart of the Old City.
Protesters were heard chanting racist slogans, including 'Death to Arabs,' as they moved through the Muslim Quarter under heavy police protection.
The march, which commemorates Israel's capture of East Jerusalem in 1967, frequently leads to clashes with Palestinian residents and business owners.
Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir also visited the Al-Aqsa compound earlier in the day, a move that Palestinian leaders have condemned as a provocative violation of the status quo.
