FDA Panel Backs Moderna mRNA Flu Shot
A U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel unanimously recommended the approval of Moderna's mRNA-based flu vaccine for older adults.
The vote clears the way for the first shot of its kind and represents a major milestone for the mRNA technology platform beyond COVID-19.
The recommendation is a significant step for Moderna as it looks to diversify its product portfolio beyond its successful coronavirus vaccine.
If approved by the FDA, the shot would become the first mRNA influenza vaccine available for commercial use.
