Obama and Mamdani meet in Bronx

The first in-person meeting between Barack Obama and Zohran Mamdani took place on Saturday, just over 100 days after Mamdani took office as mayor.

The visit to the Bronx child care center was designed to highlight the importance of early childhood education and community support.

After a private discussion, the pair were mobbed by enthusiastic children as they sat on the floor for photos.

The joint appearance is seen as a significant endorsement of Mamdani's early administration and his focus on social services.
