Pentagon signs classified AI deals

The U.S. Department of Defense has finalized classified agreements with eight major artificial intelligence firms, including Google, Nvidia, and SpaceX. The partnerships aim to integrate advanced AI capabilities into military networks to establish an 'AI-first fighting force.' Conspicuously absent from the deal is Anthropic, which recently engaged in a public dispute with the administration over intellectual property.

The agreements will allow the military to utilize generative AI and robotics in secure, classified settings to maintain a competitive edge over global rivals.
