Artemis II crew returns home

The Artemis II mission has officially ended, marking humanity's first crewed voyage to the Moon's vicinity in over half a century.

After a high-speed re-entry through Earth's atmosphere, the Orion spacecraft splashed down off the coast of San Diego under a canopy of parachutes.

Recovery teams from NASA and the U.S. Navy successfully retrieved the four astronauts, who are reported to be in excellent health.

This landmark test flight paves the way for future lunar landings and the eventual establishment of a permanent base on the Moon.
