Burnham Leads Labour Poll Surge

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has seen his Labour party lead in multiple polls during his first full week in office, driven by aggressive messaging on education and youth unemployment.

During a surprise visit to Derby, he announced reforms aimed at reducing the number of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET).

Meanwhile, Barclays warned Burnham against hiking bank taxes, and his government denied plans for a ‘death tax’ for social care despite speculation.

Opposition leader Kemi Badenoch demanded that Burnham halt early releases of prisoners amid rising concern over public safety.
