Aaron Rai wins PGA Championship

Aaron Rai made history on Sunday by becoming the first Englishman since 1919 to win the PGA Championship.

The 31-year-old from Wolverhampton delivered a masterclass at Aronimink Golf Club, sinking a dramatic 70-foot putt on his way to a final-round 65.

Rai's breakthrough victory ended a decade-long streak of American winners and earned him a $3.69 million prize.

The unassuming champion, known for his unique use of two gloves and iron covers, was hailed by peers including Rory McIlroy as one of the most popular winners in the sport's history.
