AFC Joins UEFA in World Cup Boycott Threat

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) expressed 'deep concern' and called for an urgent review of FIFA's proposed US$20 billion commercial subsidiary, FIFA Forward Enterprise, to run the World Cup.

This follows UEFA's unanimous vote to boycott FIFA competitions if the plan proceeds, and CONCACAF's rejection.

A senior FIFA adviser, Carlos Cordeiro, resigned in protest, and Infantino faces a no-confidence vote.

The revolt has effectively stalled the plan, with the 2030 World Cup hosts potentially boycotting their own tournament.
