Hantavirus Cruise Ship Cleared

The MV Hondius cruise ship has been cleared to sail again after undergoing a deep clean and disinfection following a deadly hantavirus outbreak.

The outbreak earlier this month resulted in 13 confirmed cases and three deaths, prompting a three-week quarantine for affected passengers.

Two Singapore residents who were on board the MV Hondius have been confirmed hantavirus-free and allowed to quarantine at home.

The incident highlights the importance of rapid response and thorough disinfection protocols in preventing the spread of infectious diseases on cruise ships.
