Virginia Politician Murder-Suicide

The Virginia political community is in shock following the deaths of Justin and Cerina Fairfax in what authorities have described as a domestic tragedy.

Officers discovered the bodies just after midnight on Thursday after responding to reports of gunfire at the family's Annandale residence.

Fairfax, who served as lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2022, had been embroiled in a series of legal and personal crises that derailed his once-promising political career.

Friends of the couple noted that Fairfax had struggled to find employment or legal clients following several public controversies.

The couple's children were unharmed and are currently in the care of relatives as the investigation continues.
