Artemis II crew returns home

The Orion spacecraft, carrying three Americans and one Canadian, safely returned to Earth after traveling further into deep space than any humans in history.

Upon re-entry, the capsule withstood temperatures of 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit before deploying parachutes for a precision landing.

Navy divers and recovery teams quickly secured the module to retrieve the astronauts, who are reported to be in good health.

This successful test flight paves the way for future crewed landings on the lunar surface and eventual missions to Mars.
