Russia jams UK Defence jet

The United Kingdom has accused Russia of jamming the GPS signal of an RAF aircraft carrying Defence Secretary John Healey.

The electronic interference lasted for the duration of a three-hour flight as the jet traveled close to the Russian border following a visit to Estonia.

While the aircraft was forced to rely on alternative navigation systems, it returned safely to the UK. This incident is being viewed as a significant provocation and a demonstration of Russia's electronic warfare capabilities near NATO airspace.
