Apple settles Siri AI lawsuit

Apple has reached a $250 million settlement to end a long-running class-action lawsuit that accused the company of false advertising regarding its Siri artificial intelligence.

The plaintiffs alleged that Apple's marketing materials significantly overpromised on Siri's capabilities and reliability, leading consumers to purchase iPhones based on features that were either delayed or non-functional.

Under the terms of the agreement, eligible iPhone owners could receive cash payments of up to $95 per device.

This settlement comes as Apple prepares to integrate more advanced, third-party AI models into its software to compete with rivals like Google and OpenAI.
