IBM settles DEI discrimination probe

The settlement marks a significant development in the scrutiny of corporate DEI policies.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that IBM will resolve allegations that it discriminated based on race, color, national origin, or sex in its hiring and employment practices.

The probe focused on whether the company's internal diversity targets led to illegal bias against qualified candidates.

While IBM has not admitted to any wrongdoing, the payment is the first of its kind involving a major tech firm and federal contract anti-discrimination requirements.
