EU unblocks €90B Ukraine loan

EU unblocks €90B Ukraine loan

The vital financial support package for Kyiv had been stalled by a Hungarian veto, but the new administration in Budapest has withdrawn its opposition.

This breakthrough comes as Ukraine restarts pumping Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia, resolving a critical energy dispute.

The loan is intended to bolster Ukraine's finances as it continues its defense against Russian aggression.

EU leaders are also expected to finalize a new package of sanctions against Moscow in the coming days.
