Nigeria replaces finance minister
Taiwo Oyedele, a junior minister who oversaw a major revamp of the country's tax system, has been named as Edun's successor.
The move is seen as an attempt by the administration to deepen economic reforms and address the country's mounting financial challenges.
Tinubu has also sought ministerial confirmation for several other key posts as he looks to strengthen his government ahead of the 2027 elections.
The reshuffle has sparked a wave of anxiety among other cabinet members, many of whom fear they could be next to depart.
