Artemis II nears historic moon flyby

Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen are entering the final stages of their journey toward the far side of the moon.

This historic mission, the first crewed lunar voyage since the Apollo era, has already returned striking high-resolution images of Earth from deep space.

Despite minor technical issues with the spacecraft's state-of-the-art toilet, NASA officials report that all primary flight systems are performing well.

The successful completion of this flyby will pave the way for the Artemis III mission, which intends to land the first woman and person of color on the lunar surface.
