NASA Launches Historic Artemis II Mission
The Artemis II crew, consisting of three Americans and one Canadian, blasted off from Kennedy Space Center aboard the Space Launch System rocket.
While the mission will not include a lunar landing, it is a critical test of the Orion spacecraft's life support and navigation systems.
The crew will travel farther from Earth than any previous human spaceflight, paving the way for a permanent lunar presence.
Despite minor technical glitches, including a temporary issue with the onboard toilet, the mission remains on course for its Monday moon arrival.
