Russia-Ukraine Easter truce fails

Russia-Ukraine Easter truce fails

The temporary ceasefire intended to mark Orthodox Easter has largely disintegrated as fighting continues across the front lines.

Ukraine's General Staff reported over 2,000 violations by Russian forces, including an ambulance strike and the alleged execution of prisoners of war.

Conversely, Russian governors claimed Ukrainian drones targeted border regions, injuring several civilians.

The failure of the truce further deepens the mistrust between the warring nations as the conflict enters its fifth year.
