Clarence Thomas makes SCOTUS history
Justice Clarence Thomas has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the second longest-serving justice in the history of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Having served over 34 years on the nation's highest court, Thomas has now surpassed the tenure of Justice Joseph Story.
He remains a pivotal figure in the court's conservative majority, having authored landmark opinions on constitutional law and civil rights.
Only Justice William O. Douglas, who served for over 36 years, now holds a longer tenure than Thomas in the history of the institution.
