London Tube strikes called off
London commuters have been granted a reprieve after the RMT union announced it was calling off two days of planned Tube strikes.
The decision followed '11th hour' negotiations that reportedly saw a shift in TfL's position regarding the introduction of a voluntary four-day week for drivers.
While the immediate threat of travel chaos has been averted, union leaders warned that the underlying dispute over working conditions remains unresolved.
New strike dates have already been penciled in for early June if further progress is not made in the coming weeks.
