Artemis II shatters human distance record
NASA's Artemis II mission has achieved a monumental milestone by breaking the human spaceflight distance record previously held for over 50 years.
The crew, consisting of three Americans and one Canadian, traveled more than 248,655 miles from Earth as they rounded the moon.
During the mission, Commander Reid Wiseman shared an emotional moment by naming a lunar crater after his late wife, Carroll.
Despite a temporary communication blackout while passing behind the moon, the mission remains on track as a critical rehearsal for future lunar landings.
