Roblox overhauls child safety
In its most significant safety update to date, Roblox will roll out distinct account categories for children and teens starting in June.
Users aged five to eight will be restricted to 'Roblox Kids' accounts, while those aged nine to fifteen will use 'Roblox Select,' both featuring enhanced communication filters.
The company is also implementing facial-estimation technology to verify user ages and prevent minors from accessing adult content.
These changes come as governments in Australia and Europe consider outright social media bans for youth under sixteen.
