ICE agent charged in shooting

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer has been charged with multiple counts of second-degree assault in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a Venezuelan immigrant in Minneapolis.

Prosecutors allege the officer, Christian Castro, lied to investigators about the confrontation, which occurred during a major enforcement operation in January.

The incident has intensified the debate over federal immigration enforcement tactics and the lack of oversight at detention facilities.
