Roblox Launches Youth Accounts
The popular gaming platform Roblox has announced a major overhaul of its account structure, creating three distinct tiers for users under 16.
Children aged 5 to 8 will be assigned to 'Roblox Kids' accounts with the highest level of restrictions, while those aged 9 to 15 will use 'Roblox Select.' The move comes after the company was put on notice by regulators over reports of predators exploiting the platform's social features.
Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki stated that the changes are designed to provide a safer, more age-appropriate experience for the platform's millions of young users.
