Trump Fast-Tracks Psychedelic Medical Research

In a significant shift in federal drug policy, President Trump has directed the FDA to expedite reviews of breakthrough psychedelic therapies for veterans and those with severe depression.

The signing ceremony featured Joe Rogan, who reportedly texted the president information about the benefits of ibogaine, a substance currently under the most restrictive legal category.

While the administration seeks to ease restrictions for medical purposes, officials emphasized that these substances remain banned for general use.

The order allocates approximately $50 million toward clinical trials and research infrastructure to address the growing mental health crisis among combat veterans.
