EasyJet warns of fuel uncertainty

EasyJet has reported a first-half loss of £552 million and warned that its full-year outlook remains uncertain due to rising jet fuel costs.

The budget airline said that while it intends to fly its full summer schedule, passengers are waiting longer to book trips.

CEO Kenton Jarvis noted that the price of jet fuel has 'literally doubled' in some regions due to the conflict in Iran, forcing the company to add fuel surcharges to some fares.

Despite the financial pressure, the airline reassured customers that it is not currently seeing any disruption to its fuel supply.

EasyJet also warned of potential delays at EU borders this summer due to the implementation of new biometric entry systems.
