Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire Extended
Diplomatic efforts at the White House have successfully pushed back the expiration of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire, providing a twenty-one-day window for further negotiations.
The meeting involved Israeli and Lebanese envoys alongside top U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ambassador Mike Huckabee.
Despite the extension, sporadic fighting continues on the ground, and Lebanon has warned that no permanent deal is possible without a full Israeli troop withdrawal from southern territories.
This extension is viewed as a critical step in preventing a wider regional escalation as the U.S. simultaneously manages a separate standoff with Iran.
