LaGuardia crash findings released

Federal investigators have identified a series of technological and human failures that led to the deadly March 22 crash at LaGuardia Airport.

According to the NTSB, a crew member on the fire truck heard a 'stop' command from air traffic control but was unsure who the warning was intended for.

The report also highlights the lack of transponders on airport emergency vehicles, which prevented automatic warning systems from alerting controllers to the imminent collision.

The crash, which killed two pilots and injured dozens of others, has prompted new recommendations for alcohol testing for all school and transit bus drivers to improve overall transportation safety.
