Israel-Lebanon ceasefire strained

Despite the temporary truce, Israeli commanders have reportedly moved ahead with the destruction of towns in a buffer zone to prevent future threats.

A French peacekeeper was also killed in an ambush allegedly carried out by Hezbollah, further jeopardizing the diplomatic process.

Residents returning to their homes in the south have found widespread destruction, while many others remain hesitant to return due to ongoing shelling.

Both sides have accused each other of violating the terms of the agreement as the deadline for a permanent resolution approaches.
