Gunman kills tourist at Mexico pyramids

Panic erupted at one of Mexico's most visited archaeological sites when an armed man standing atop the Pyramid of the Moon began shooting at crowds below.

Authorities confirmed that a Canadian holidaymaker was fatally wounded, while several others, including six Americans, were hospitalized with gunshot injuries and falls.

The attack occurred on the 27th anniversary of the Columbine massacre, leading investigators to probe whether the shooter was inspired by the school shooting.

Security is being heightened at major tourist attractions across the country following the rare and violent incident.
