ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons Resigns
The leadership of the agency central to President Trump's deportation plans is set for a major transition as Todd Lyons prepares his departure.
Lyons, who took the acting role in early 2025, oversaw the doubling of ICE's force and a $75 billion expansion that has recently faced criticism for questionable hiring practices.
Data shows that 29 people have died in ICE custody since October, already surpassing previous annual records.
The White House has not yet announced a permanent successor, as the administration readies for a potential political showdown over immigration ahead of the midterms.
