Israel-Lebanon 10-day ceasefire begins

Israel-Lebanon 10-day ceasefire begins

Following weeks of intense bombardment, a temporary cessation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon commenced at midnight on Friday.

The truce, negotiated with significant involvement from the Trump administration, aims to provide a window for broader peace talks between the United States and Iran.

While celebratory gunfire and fireworks erupted in Beirut, the Israeli military has warned residents against returning to specific border areas, stating that its mission to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure is not yet complete.

The ceasefire remains highly tenuous, with the Lebanese army already reporting multiple violations by Israeli forces in the southern border region.
