Shreveport police have identified the gunman as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, an Army veteran who allegedly targeted his own relatives.
The shooting spree spanned at least three homes, leaving the community in shock as details of the carnage emerged.
Following a high-speed car chase and a confrontation with law enforcement, Elkins was killed by responding officers.
