Pennsylvania reports first US measles deaths in decades

Pennsylvania reported the first US measles deaths in decades, with two unvaccinated Lancaster County residents succumbing to the disease.

The CDC has confirmed 2,777 measles infections this year through Aug. 20, already surpassing a 35-year high.

Both victims were part of the ongoing outbreak that has raised concerns about vaccination rates.

Health officials are urging vaccination as the primary defense against the highly contagious disease.
