UK Inflation Eases to 15-Month Low
UK inflation fell to 2.6% in June, its lowest in 15 months, as food and fuel prices eased, providing a temporary boost for new Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Analysts warned that energy price spikes from the Iran war are likely to push inflation higher again.
The drop was driven by cheaper petrol after a brief de-escalation in the conflict.
Coffee, soft drinks, rice, meat and tea were among items that saw a slowing of inflation.
